Abstract [en]

The chemo-fluorescent drug curcumin (CUR) is a safe and effective anticancer agent. The primary limitation of CUR is its poor solubility in water, which limits its bioavailability. We have developed an efficient chemotherapeutic and amorphous magneto-fluorescent CUR grafted magnetic nanoparticles (CUR-MAG NPs) using wet chemical process. The CUR grafting of MAG NPs improved the solubility, bioavailability, and internalization activities of CUR. CUR-MAG NPs can be used as a novel platform for in vivo biomedical applications.
