Is there a connection between how parents estimate their children's behavior by SDQand how families experience family function according to SCORE-15? (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to take part in the validation work going on around the SCORE 15 in Sweden, partly to see if there is a connection between the estimates made by the families in the new form that measures the family interaction(SCORE-15) and another form many BUP receptions use today, SDQ (Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire), which measures the child / youth symptoms. It is a quantitative study in which data were collected from new patients at a BUP out-patient clinic, the material consists of a total of 19 families where the parents have filled in both the SCORE 15 and SDQ. Despite a big drop-out, we still produced statistically significant results. The results regarding the validation part is that SCORE 15 distinguishes clinical families compared to a non- clinical normal group. It was also found that there is a connection between how families perceive their children's behavior and how they perceive their family interaction, in other words that there is an association between the estimates made with the SDQ and SCORE-15. This suggests that the SCORE 15 could be useful in clinical work in child psychiatry.
