The chapter introduces central themes in current feminist theory, as well as an intertwinement of cultural critique and an affirmative search for alternatives.  The  key theoretical themes, focused in the chapter, are the following: 1) intersectionality and disidentification, 2) postconstructionism and new feminist materialism, and 3) queer- and transtheory as well as sex-positive feminism.
