Generation Y : A qualitative study about how managers view demands and expectations from generation Y (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study is intendent to highlight demands and expectations that generation Y places on managers and workplaces. By conducting a qualitive study, with this essay we want to contribute to increased understanding of how managers and organizations can work to attract and retain generation Y within their workplace. With inspiration from hermeneutics, we have interviewed eight different managers/HRmanagers to take part of their experiences about generation Y. The most important findings are that generation Y is perceived as a complex generation and differs to some extent from previous generations. They therefore place different demands on the workplace and the leadership, which may be of interest to be able to adapt to the future labor market.
