Abstract [en]
Social media constitute a considerable amount of daily life, of many, people. According to www.statista.com, 3.8 billion people are using social media in 2020. Especially with the new technologies and the development of smartphones, social media changed the ways we communicate and interact with the world. Additionally, Facebook is the leading social media platform, currently sits at almost 2.5 billion monthly active users (https://www.statista.com/statistics/272014/global-social-networks-ranked-by-number-of-users/). In this research study I aim to explore how a Greek feminist Facebook page creates a digital intimate public space through solidarity. To answer my research question, I draw from the concept of intimacy by Lauren Berlant (1998) and the concept of solidarity by Alex Honneth (1995). The data collected for this study are drawn by published anonymous posts of the page Feminist Rants. The collected data were analyzed with the method of discourse analysis.
