Performance Improvementof Model Calibrationprogram For SCR Catalyst
Linköping University, Department of Electrical Engineering, Vehicular Systems.
2020 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

To keep up with stricter emission legislation, a better understanding of the gas af-tertreatment system for heavy-duty vehicles is required. With computers becom-ing more powerful, simulations have become a useful research tool in helping toachieve this goal. This thesis aims to improve an existing program for simulation, validation anddata fitting of SCR catalysts by introducing parallel computation and addingnew features to the program. With the parallel computation, more computa-tional power is added to the program, allowing the program to run multipleexperiments simultaneously. The main goals are to make the program more time-efficient and introduce handling of steady-state simulations. The question an-swered in this thesis is how much more time efficiency can be gained by usingparallel computation. To answer the question a performance test was constructed by using a modifiedload test. This test was performed on both the original program and the paral-lel program. Results from this thesis, shows that the time consumption can bereduced significantly with parallel computation.
