Abstract [sv]

Högtalare består idag ofta av flera högtalarelement, avsedda för olika frekvensområden. Signalen som driver dessa måste delas upp genom att oönskade frekvenskomponenter filtreras bort ur respektive utgående signal. Normalt görs detta med passiva komponenter i högtalarlådan. I denna rapport beskrivs arbetet med att ta fram ett digitalt system för att ersätta dessa passiva filter. Teoridelen tar metodiskt läsaren till en relevant kravspecifikation för systemet. Systemets fördelar gentemot den konventionella systemutformningen

diskuteras också. Ingående delystem är hårdvara för digital signalinmatning, digital signalprocessor för bearbetning av ljudet samt analog hårdvara för utmatning av de frekvensuppdelade ljudsignalerna. Stor vikt ligger på mjukvaruapplikationens struktur och implementation. Verifiering av systemets prestanda görs med en för akustikmätningar väl etablerad metod. I resultatdelen presenteras också det digitala systemets förmåga att kompensera högtalarens frekvensgång mot en given målkurva. Slutligen ges konkreta förslag på förbättringar av systemet som kan göras.

Abstract [en]

Today loudspeakers often contain several driving units, optimized for different frequency regions. The signal powering these driving units must be split up by filtering unwanted frequency components out of each outgoing signal. Usually, this is accomplished through

passive components within the loudspeaker enclosure. This report describes the development of a digital system to replace these passive filters. Theory is presented that leads the reader methodically towards a relevant requirement specification for the system. Benefits of this system compared to the conventional solution are also discussed. Subsystems within the scope of this paper are hardware for digital signal input, digital signal

processor and hardware for analogue output of the frequency split signals. The report puts a lot of focus on the structure and implementation of the software application. Performance verification is made by a well established methology for acoustical measurements. With the rest of the results, the ability of this digital system to compensate for the frequency behaviour of a loudspeaker towards a target curve, is also presented. Finally, concrete suggestions are given of further improvements that could be done to the system.
