An Approach to Kansei Engineering-Methods and Case Study on Design Identity
2001 (English)In: Conference on Human Affective Design, Singapore June, 27-29, 2001Conference paper (Other academic)
Improvements in the design of products for industrial use gets increasingly important. The aim is to get better knowledge about the user’s feelings about warehouse-trucks and to test study methods . Kansei Engineering is used in order to compare three trucks from different manufacturers and reveal differences in impact on the users. The project contains three studies at European companies, using a modified analogue-visual scale, administered by Excel based software. The results show that there are significant differences between truck traits. All trucks score lower than an "ideal" truck. This shows that even a mature product still has improvement potential.
