Abstract [en]

Today’s' mobile phones are technically powerful enough to run diverse software such as music players, internet browser and even different kinds of games. MyWidz Mobile platform is a technology developed by MyWidz AB to run small programs (which are called widgets) on mobile phones. The aim of this thesis is to develop a high level programming language to allow end-user to create widgets for the MyWidz platform.

This thesis presents different stages of the project. The starting point of the work was to design the language structure for MyWidz high level language. The next step was to develop the tools to transform the high level language into a form readable by MyWidz mobile platform. The last part of the work is comparative study with the existing standards of end user programming with respect usability. The aim of the work is to construct a language for end-users in such a way that it's easy and simple to create widgets.
