Abstract [sv]

To be discussed in this article is research on some subtile but non the less serious complications that must be observed and handled using such standardized self-report questionnaires repeatedly. Most interventions imply, during their realization process, a very complex change for humans. Beside the specific condition(s) to be improved, a number of other conditions may become affected as well. The researcher using the same standardized self-report scales before and after the intervention may have confidence or not in the subject-s understanding of the self-report questions and perceiving the interval steps of the scale in the same way after as before the intervention. However, he/she must sharpen his methodological awareness and take into account what during the intervention period could eventually have affected the subject-s frame of reference and thereby changed his/ her perceived meaning of a rating scale-s steps or intervals or of the self-report questions that have to be answered.
