2012 (English)In: Hunting High and Low: Skriftfest til Jostein Gripsrud på 60-årsdagen / [ed] Jan Fredrik Hovden & Karl Knapskog, Oslo: Scandinavian Academic Press, 2012, 1, 539-567 p.Chapter in book (Other academic)
Abstract [no]

"In the course of his remarkable career, Jostein Gripsrud has managed to produce media texts as well as to reflect on them, to play a leader-ship role in a major academic department as well as in a national broadcasting service, and in general to work towards building networks of people, of exchange, of ideas. His command of the theoretical discourse is balanced by his understanding of production logics and textual systems on both sides of the Atlantic, and as processed through his various roles, has established him as an extraordinarily rare voice in the discourse on democratization and cultural participation."  William Uricchio
