This thesis has been written under the consultation of Skanska Hus Norrköping and aims to investigate the differences between environmental label systems regarding constructions. Interviews aiming to investigate the knowledge of environmental label systems have been made with representatives of local constructors.

The systems that have been analysed are the international systems BREEAM, LEED and GreenBuilding, and the national systems Svanen and Miljöklassad Byggnad. BREEAM and LEED are the most comprehensive systems in terms of number of aspects. Some of these aspects were by the interviewees considered hard to implement in Sweden, because of the differences in national regulations. The environmental labelling systems Svanen and Miljöklassad Byggnad are better suited for the Swedish conditions and could therefore be more successful in Sweden. GreenBuilding differs from the other systems because it solely focuses on the energy consumption and that it is intended for commercial buildings only.

During the interviews we realised that the interviewees knowledge concerning environmental label systems were poor, as well as their interest in labelling their buildings with an “eco-label”. However, the interviewees find most of the aspects that are included in the environmental label systems important. An interpretation of this could be that the constructors have an interest in building environmental friendly but they do not feel the need to label their buildings.

Detta examensarbete har utförts i samråd med Skanska Hus Norrköping och syftar till att reda ut vilka miljömärkningssystem som finns och vad som skiljer dem åt. Intervjuer har också genomförts med representanter för några olika byggherrar som arbetar med bostäder och är verksamma i Norrköping. Intervjuerna syftar till att reda ut vad de intervjuade känner till om miljömärkningssystem och vad de tycker är viktigt gällande miljövänliga byggnader.

De system som har analyserats är de internationella systemen BREEAM, LEED och GreenBuilding samt de nationella systemen Svanen och Miljöklassad Byggnad. BREEAM och LEED är de mest omfattande systemen sett till antalet aspekter. Vissa av aspekterna i dessa system ansågs av de intervjuade vara svåra att implementera i Sverige, eftersom olika länders regelverk skiljer sig åt. Miljömärkningssystemen Svanen och Miljöklassad Byggnad passar de svenska förhållandena bättre och borde då kunna få ett större genomslag i Sverige. GreenBuilding skiljer sig från övriga system genom att det enbart fokuserar på energiförbrukning och är avsett för kommersiella byggnader.

Under intervjuerna framkom att kännedomen hos byggherrarnas representanter om de olika miljömärkningssystemen är låg, likaså intresset för att miljömärka byggnader. Trots detta anser de intervjuade att de flesta aspekter som ingår i de olika systemen är viktiga. Detta kan tolkas som att det hos byggherrarna finns ett intresse för att bygga miljövänligt, men att själva märkningen av byggnaden inte anses nödvändig.
