From Warehouse Buildings to House (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This report gives a description of how two warehouse buildings have been transformed to houses. The building projects that will be discussed are the old water tower in Norrköping and the grain silos in Söderköping. The report brings up issues that involve both buildings but also give a more detailed description of specific problems that have been unique for these two buildings.

Aspects that are mentioned in the report are the significance of the placement of the buildings geographically but also in a more specified level. Both buildings have culture and historical interest and this caused that I also brought a discussion about this. The two objects are described from how they look today but also how they were supposed to be functioning before the rebuilding and there is also a short history about the buildings. Different problems that have been related to the rebuilding are considered and also different construction solutions. The report gives an overview of the problems and possibilities the rebuilding have produced, the report also have a discussion about details that have been of crucial importance for the buildings. In turn, this gives the reader a clear view of how the buildings have been transformed to nice houses.
