Abstract [en]

In a study of the saproxylic beetle fauna of old hollow oaks (Quercus frainetto Tenore 1813)in western Turkey (Edremit, Balikesir) a new species from the Histeridae family was found.Hister arboricavus is described and illustrated. Additionally, its systematic position andecological specialization is discussed.
