Abstract [en]

In this paper structural and tribological properties of thin films, made with the bimetal 20AlSn used as solid lubricant in the automotive industry, were studied. Films with thicknesses in the range 150 nm to 3μm were deposited by magnetron sputtering. It is found that in the thinner films predominates a diffusion growth mechanism, while for larger thicknesses it is observed an aggregation growth mechanism. A finely dispersed structure of uniform particle size and shape, vital for good tribological behavior, is obtained.

En el presente trabajo se estudiaron propiedades estructurales y tribológicas de películas delgadas del material bimetálico Al Sn 20 de aplicación como lubricante sólido en la industria automotriz. Se depositaron películas de espesores entre 150 nm y 3µm por la técnica de "magnetron sputtering". En las películas más delgadas predomina el mecanismo de crecimiento por difusión, mientras que en las de mayores espesores el de agregación. Se obtiene una estructura finamente dispersada de partículas uniformes en tamaño y forma vital para el buen comportamiento tribológico.
