A changing industry : An interview study regarding the environmental performance of four construction companies in Östergötland and Södermanland (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study aims to be a contribution to the research of the Swedish construction industry's environmental performance. Based on seven semistructured interviews with representatives from four Swedish construction companies operating in Östergötland and Södermanland, this study seeks to investigate the representatives’ views on the construction companies' own environmental impact and the development of the environmental issue within the industry. The study is partly based on previous research and examines how the interviewed representatives are affected by the barriers and drivers identified by previous research. Also, the representatives' views on responsibility for environmental issues within the industry are discussed. The results of this study suggest that the interviewed representatives often recognize the barriers and drivers mentioned in previous research, but do not always seem to be affected in the way that previous research describes.
