Abstract [en]

Care Robots are the future of healthcare giving for patients with chronic diseases and disabilities. For improving the quality of caregiving and the trustworthiness of those robots, they should be equipped with emotion recognition capabilities and empathetic behavior. In this work, we propose an framework for an empathy module to be incorporated in every care robot, and then demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposal by means of an example.
